In humans, a recent systematic analysis of reported gastrointestinal side effects during treatment with GLP1 receptor agonists, including 32 clinical trials and 10,367 patients, reports that the level of nausea and vomiting depends on several factors: (i) the higher the dose, the higher the frequency of nausea, (ii) other medication and (iii) longacting GLP1 receptor agonists compared with more shortacting GLP1 receptor agonists, were associated with less nausea (Bettge et al., 2017)
This could lead to higher prices for consumers, reduced availability, or even market withdrawal by some manufacturers
