L'If, Saint-Emilion, France 2012 Alexander Valley creating even more demand forThe owner of the famed Pomerol estate Le Pin, Jacques Theinpoint, took over this Saint Emillion estate in 2010 and the 2012 is the first vintage where the new winemaking approach really hits its stride. This blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cab Franc was vinified with elegance and freshness in mind, the herbal and savoury hints provided by the latter doing a lot of work in the blend. It is only now moving into it's drinking window and the ripe, sexy, plum
